My BAT MY Rules

Not all playing fields in life are fair, and that's ok. Sometimes the odds favour you and sometimes they may not.

But then there are times, when you aren't even told about the rules of the game. It's as if there is an invisible billboard in the playing fields that reads "My Game My Rules". It reminds me of how in childhood when we played cricket, sometimes the guy who owned the cricket set would ask for an additional batting innings and sometimes would want to go home midway once he got out.

Sometimes in our career we can come across such instances where the rules of success and play keep evolving based on what suits the other side. Being able to read such situations, and moving on rather than persisting is pivotal for your mental health and professional success.

Of course, it's tricky and an individual's judgement call on when perseverance pays and when it punishes to stay with it.

Persistence pays, but not always!!
