Deep Play
Not all free time is equal.
Not every activity of play is playful.
Mindless play can often discharge our batteries more than recharging them.
Often the our problem is not lack of play, but lack of deep play.
It's not easy though to know what gives you that sense of deep play. Often it is not restricted to one thing, but can be many different (even unconventional & sometimes even mundane) things. There are two attributes that characterize it, with everything else being flexible
1. You get into the zone when you are at it
2. You feel mentally refreshed at the end of it (unlike what mindless scrolling does to you)
Here is a picture of me & my 7 year olds deep play output today.
