What Comea First: Confidence or Competence?

Taking action is pre-requisite for achieving anything in life.

Taking action requires Confidence and Competence.

I have often debated which is the starting point for taking action. Is it Confidence or Competence.

My Conclusion: We need Confidence to take action that builds Competence, which in turn amplifies our Confidence and puts us on a growth path.

Confidence here refers to backing your ability to figure things out, and not necessarily confidence of knowing things to get started.

Also, confidence doesn't mean having zero self doubt. it means moving ahead despite some doubts you may have.

So how do you build confidence? By taking small steps, and seeing them succeed AND equally when they fail seeing that it's not the end of the world and that you can figure out another way out.
