Documentation and call summaries can save many a difficult conversation!

It's baffling to see how many people fail to summarize and document what is discussed. Spending a few mns to do so, after an important conversation, can save you many a relationship, late nights, and heart break at work and with clients.

Here are the nuts and bolt of it:

When: Ideally, within 24 hrs of the conversation

How: On email or slack or other similar collaboration tools

Why: Ensure alignment on the way forward & responsibilities

What: Next steps, and summary actions by team/ person, ideally with dates

Who: Often the organizer, project manager or someone who is responsible for moving this forward for the initiative.
Pro tip: Ask people to send their respective actions over an email to you, and you can add/ edit as required to send a cumulative list- saves time!!

It's like a good habit, everyone knows about it but very few do it!!
