The Messenger Matters @ Work
At work the messenger matters as much as the message!
When giving feedback or even appreciation, choosing the messenger is critical. Reporting manager may not always be the right messenger. Sometimes, choosing others in the system (both seniors and peers) that share a relationship with the receiver of the feedback can be very effective. For the intent of the feedback and/or appreciation is change or reinforcement in behavior, and not merely a tick in the box!
