Intense Doesn’t Mean Tense

Intense doesn't have to be Tense!!

Intense means it's a vibrant, open and expressive work environment, where the team's collective output is often greater that the sum of its parts. Passion for the cause/ project/ team is the primary emotion that characterizes the team.

Tense means an environment where people fear (failure), choke and often the collective output is much lesser than what the team is capable of. Shifting the blame and fear are the dominant emotions in such a setting.

Let's create Intense and not Tense workplaces, whether virtual or physical. The difference often lies in two things
1. Whether people understand the WHY behind what they are asked to do.
2. Are the senior leaders willing to absorb the pressure so their teams can be driven and channelized without choking for fear of failure.
3. Are good ideas are welcomed irrespective of where in the hierarchy they originate.
